I have struggled with skin issues since I can remember…honestly, probably since 4th or 5th grade! It’s something that I have been deathly embarrassed to talk about & I can’t believe I’m actually admitting it for the whole world (or my like 5 followers, hi mom!) to read, but I know I can’t be the ONLY one who struggles with this. There have to be other women out there who have canceled plans because a huge zit will just NOT. GO. AWAY. And honestly – it’s no secret because it’s quite literally written all over my face.
I’ve tried a freaking WIDE gamut of products; Clearasil, Neutrogena, CeraVe, Simple products from Target, Proactive, Accutane, prescription grade retinol, good Lord you name it! Most recently I tried Rodan & Fields & while I didn’t HATE their products, I also had a hard time coughing up an arm and a leg to purchase them.
Enter my sweet friend, Jaime! She introduced me to Beautycounter & I haven’t looked back. It’s slightly less expensive and significantly better for my skin. I’ve been using their Countercontrol regimen for a while now & while I haven’t been using it as often as I should be (don’t judge) I am really loving it. The cleanser is my favorite part of the routine because it really digs deep & gets the day’s worth of makeup off without stripping my skin. I’ve made a promise to myself that I’ll be more diligent about using it so I can really enjoy the fruits of my labor.

But let’s get to the good stuff, my absolutely freaking favorite product of theirs. The Overnight Resurfacing Peel is a true gift to mankind. I use it 2-3 times a week & it’s embarrassingly enough my favorite part of my nighttime routine. I follow it up with a couple of drops of their No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil, which is pretty much heaven in an itty bitty adorable baby bottle. But that’s not to say that I’ve gone through it too quickly, you really only need a couple drops to get the full effect. It has taken a couple times of using it before I truly saw any kind of difference, but I LOVE the way my skin feels in the morning.

I’ve never been one to have super soft skin (my sister was lucky enough to inherit that gene) but I’ve noticed a difference in my skin since using Beautycounter. On top of super safe skincare, they also offer makeup! I’ll be the first to admit…I could REALLY step up my makeup game! I’ve been eyeing this super cute makeup bundle & I’m crossing my fingers that Santa drops it off under the tree for me! And who wouldn’t love getting this as a stocking stuffer? Or THIS?!
Also, I know what you’re thinking, so I’ll go ahead & address it…no I’m not getting paid for any of this. It’s just a product that I really like & that I wanted to share with ya’ll. Below are some quick links if you’re interested in making the switch to healthier skincare or if you’d like to get started on some holiday shopping (Jordan, if you’re reading this…I really want to try the charcoal set). I won’t lie though, good quality products do not come cheap. I like to spread out my purchases, mostly so my husband’s head doesn’t explode!
