Mom Like Me: Leslie Murphy

I have known Leslie since I can remember – I’m talking like first or second grade! We have literally grown up together & she was the first of my high school friends to get married & the first of us to have a baby! She’s paved the way for the rest of us in more ways than one. Her family is just the most adorable & her husband, Kyle, and she just welcomed a new family member – a little boy about 5 months ago! She is constantly sending us texts of the funny and weird things her kids are doing & she does such a great job of taking things with a grain of salt. I am SO incredibly proud of the mom this girl has become & I love her heart of gold!

What does it mean to you to be a mom?
Everything. Simple as that!

What is your favorite part of motherhood?
Probably that I made these little humans and teaching them and watching them grow up and do amazing things every day! And how hilarious they are!

What have you found to be the hardest part of motherhood? Or least favorite part of motherhood?
My least favorite part…. Sleep!!!! My children are the worst sleepers. I wonder where they get that from…The hardest part for me is not having family here. Sometimes I just want to call my mom or sister to come over and I can’t and that’s super hard.

If you could compare motherhood to one thing, what would it be?
A lot of days it’s like I just went through a tornado and then at the end of the day, I’m like what the heck did we just do lol but we made it!! So a tornado but a happy tornado!

In the spirit of encouraging & celebrating each other – what is one piece of advice you would give to a new mom?
Do whatever works for you and your baby! There is no book or person that knows your baby like you and you know what’s best for them! Trust your instincts!

What is the WEIRDEST thing you’ve done as a mom?
I literally just had to look up “what do skeletons eat” because Charlotte wanted to know and she said Google it… so I did lol I’m sure there’s something weirder but that just happened!

Based on your child’s or children’s personality at this very moment – what would their high school superlative be?
Most talkative and social would be Charlotte! Hands down. She talks for 13 hours straight. And I’m scared to admit this one but probably the ability to party all night!

On a scale of 1 to the center of the sun, how hot do you like your shower water?
Center of the sun!

Nickname your parents used to call you? (bonus points for a good backstory)
Leslie Lou!

What’s your favorite holiday? And tell us, why!
Valentines Day!!! My mom always made it SO special for us and I hope to continue the tradition for my kids!

Is double dipping at a party ever acceptable?
No!! Germs!

What’s for dinner tonight?
Roasted broccoli cauliflower and chicken and stuffed peppers!

Being one of my oldest & sweetest friends, I just love this gal so much! She is always there to listen & offer up an encouraging word. She has a servant’s heart & a love for her sweet babies!

Thanks for stopping by, friends!
