There’s nothing quite like a sister! And there’s nothing quite like seeing your little sister become a mom. I will NEVER forget the day my nephew was born. The first time I laid eyes on him was through the nursery window. I immediately started sobbing & my dad asked if I was okay…apparently I was crying REALLY hard. It was just so incredible to see such a tiny person & know that it’s part of your family…forever! He’s been my little buddy since day one & now almost three years later, my sister has added a daughter to the bunch! She is an incredible mom with more patience than anyone I know & she is the best auntie ever! She watches my little girl three days a week & it’s so special to see the cousins grow up together.
What does it mean to you to be a mom?
It is the best thing in the world but it is a constant state of absolute selflessness.
What is your favorite part of motherhood?
The joy on my babies faces!
What have you found to be the hardest part of motherhood? Or least favorite part of motherhood?
The anxiety that comes with motherhood. You constantly second guess yourself and worry about every little thing.
If you could compare motherhood to one thing, what would it be?
It’s like having a great day at the pool but being dunked from time to time!
In the spirit of encouraging & celebrating each other – what is one piece of advice you would give to a new mom?
Follow your heart, you are the best mom for your child and you know what it best. We all have different ways of raising our kids but one is not better than the other.
What is the WEIRDEST thing you’ve done as a mom?
Blowing into my son’s nose while holding one nostril to shoot out a macaroni noodle that he got stuck in his nose!
If you had an afternoon to yourself, what would we find you doing?
Enjoying me time – working out, enjoying lunch alone…heck maybe even sleeping?!
What’s something on your bucket list?
I would love to travel Europe with my husband, Charlie!
On a scale of 1 to the center of the sun, how hot do you like your shower water?
A strong 9 for sure!
One day, I hope Quincy can experience the joys (and pains) of having a sister! There is only a handful of relationships in your life where you feel like you can be 100% your true self…one of those is the relationship between sisters! I love seeing my sister love on her babes & it’s so nice to have someone to be there to help you celebrate the joys & vent the frustrations of motherhood!
Thanks for the stopping by, friends!
