Welcome back to my monthly happy hour series! I’ve been thinking a lot through February what goodies I would share with you guys & I’m SUPER excited about what I found and tried out this past month.
Currently…I’m in my sweats, charcoal mask on my face (about 20 minutes passed due) & jamming to my girl Whitney. I dare you to tell me what’s better than drinking wine in your pajamas & grooving to some classic Houston. Nothing…there’s likely nothing better.
Wine
I’m trying out a new wine that has me feeling all sorts of fancy – Dark Horse, Double Down Red Blend Limited Release. I’m picked it up at my home away from home, Target & it was on sale – SCORE! I should tell you…I’m already one glass deep starting this blog. I had some dishes & laundry I had to tend to first, but that couldn’t keep me from enjoying a glass. My first impression…I out loud said, “Ooooohhh….that’s smooooth!” So there you go. It’s a smooth son of a gun & I’m enjoying it thus far! Bonus: It’s “Limited Release” so I feel EXTRA fancy drinking it!

5 Love Languages – Dr. Gary Chapman
If you follow me on Instagram, Facebook or have been keeping up with the blog this past month, you very well know I just finished reading the 5 Love Languages by Dr. Gary Chapman. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, here’s a little fun homework for you…I wrote an article on each love language; Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service & Physical Touch. I’m about 99% sure I made it obvious how much I love this book but if you don’t know…now you know – it’s SUCH a good book, whether you’re married, dating or single. Treat yo’ self with a copy.
Crush It- Gary Vee
My husband has been bugging me to read this book for months so I thought I would indulge in his request. I’m going to be brutally honest. This book was written & published in 2009, so oddly enough – I’m feeling like it might be vintage at this point. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Gary, he’s like the Godfather of social media & marketing. While I did find a few great nuggets of knowledge, I struggled to finish this one. I really do love Gary Vee, so I was hoping to be as obsessed with it as my husband, but I read it right after Jodi Picoult & she’s just a real tough act to follow. I have a few other books of his I might try reading later on this year. Either way – I’m still a huge Gary Vee fan!

I’d like to take this moment to apologize to those of you unlucky few who I snapped me singing “I Have Nothing”. I was REALLY feeling Whitney last night & I just couldn’t help myself. She gets me on a whole other level.

Jane the Virgin
YOU GUYS! Stop whatever you’re doing. If you haven’t watched this, please do yourself a favor & binge it on Netflix. This show always popped up on my “Suggested” shows to watch & I put it off for so long & I have no idea why I did. It’s every bit of a cheesy romantic drama that I was looking for. I watched all 4 seasons within the month, yes I’m that obsessive & yes I watch that much tv, and I legit screamed “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” at the end of season 4. According to the Googs, season 5 is coming out on March 27th & I might just require us to sign up for cable so I can immediately start watching again. Also, it’s going to be the last season so I’m pretty devastated about it, but I do plan to binge this series about once a year. #TeamRafael

HOMMMA gooodness! If you have a sweet tooth, do yourself a favor & head straight to Made in Omaha in Countryside Village & grab yourself a bag of these. I stopped there earlier this month & was an idiot & only got the mini bag with four. I finished the bag before I even left the parking lot. They are seriously HEAVEN in candy form.

Jen Reed from Sister Studio. I have a major Instagram girl crush on her. She’s a fashion blogger, but not just any kind of fashion blogger. She wears clothes that I could legit afford…from like Target & Old Navy & American Eagle! She just did a huge Target overhaul on her Instagram stories & I’m currently wanting this, this & this in every color. If you’re not already following her, please do! You can thank me later.
Walk the Walk
I have an obsession with shoes. Always have. Always will. It’s probably where Quincy gets it from & it’s most likely why she already has like 15 different pairs. She is constantly taking shoes off & putting new ones on. I got the cutest, most comfortable tennies from TJ Maxx earlier this month (I’m wearing them in the photo at the top)! I couldn’t find the exact pair on their site, but these are a pretty close match. As a mom, I’ve definitely traded in my stilettos for more practical shoes & honestly…I don’t hate it!
