I have to start out this post with one of my all-time favorite photos! I have known this mama for SO. LONG! We legitimately grew up together…as evident from the photo below. This photo harks all the way back from our youth & my scrapbooking days & so much has changed since then! Ashlee has two BEAUTIFUL kids & when I saw beautiful…I legit mean some of the best looking kids I’ve ever seen! She is one of the kindest people I know & won’t ever say anything bad about another person. She is such an incredible mom to her kids & is constantly thinking of ways that she can serve others. She does this all while having flawless hair & makeup. In short…Ashlee is mom goals!
What does it mean to you to be a mom?
Everything. I feel like when I became a mom…it was & still is such an honor and a privilege to be called mom! It brings me so much joy. I know that we are supposed to be teaching our children but in turn, my kids are actually teaching me every single day.
What is your favorite part of motherhood?
To be honest, I love all of it, even the tough stuff! That’s where I see the most growth in myself and my children.
What have you found to be the hardest part of motherhood? Or least favorite part of motherhood?
The hardest part is watching your kids grow up and realize you won’t get that time back. I literally miss every age and all the stages.
If you could compare motherhood to one thing, what would it be?
I always say it’s like having your heart go outside of your body. You watch them grow up and learn how to be independent. You love them so much it hurts!
In the spirit of encouraging & celebrating each other – what is one piece of advice you would give to a new mom?
Cherish every single moment! Don’t worry too much or stress, especially over the milestones, just love your little babe. And try not to compare yourself or your child to anyone else. Let them be who God created them to be. Watching them develop into that person is by far the coolest thing.
What is the WEIRDEST thing you’ve done as a mom?
So it’s more just a funny story…Teagan, my daughter, was pretty independent- feeding herself, dressing herself, etc. In preschool, I had laid out her first-day outfit – pretty pink dress! I go to pick her up after her first day and her teacher pulled me aside and said Teagan doesn’t have any underwear on today! Somehow I forgot to lay out the first-day underwear…in a dress!! #bestmomaward
If you had an afternoon to yourself, what would we find you doing?
Definitely at the pool or beach! With a good book or podcast!
On a scale of 1 to the center of the sun, how hot do you like your shower water?
I love a good hot shower…but just not TOO hot!
Someday I want to…
Help other families that have children with hearing loss.
Fill in the blank: Taylor Swift is __________
Hmmm…has good music?!?
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Teleporting…but I would want to bring people with me! Instant vacation…anywhere!
So was I right…or was I right?! She’s one of those women that is equally as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside & I just love that about her! She’s such a strong mama & I hope to share even MORE of her story with ya’ll further down the road, because it’s one that is so incredible & I feel would inspire so many people. Although, I haven’t exactly asked yet – so wish me luck!
Thanks for stopping by friends!
